Sewanee Men's Basketball Too Much For Emory & Henry, 87-59, Tuesday Evening

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South Men's Basketball Team (3-0) got out to a 13-point halftime lead as it defeated Emory & Henry College (0-4) by an 87-59 margin Tuesday evening at  Juhan Gymnasium.

With the score tied at six points apiece at the 15:32 mark, the Tigers went on a 16-5 run for a 22-11 advantage. E&H would trail by as much as 14 in the opening half, but would close the gap to eight (30-22) before Sewanee scored five straight for the 35-22 halftime margin.

After the break, the Tigers started with an 8-0 run and never looked back, cruising to the 87-59 win.

Sewanee was led by Brett Bouldin with 16 points while Nilan Hodge had 11 points of his own. Lewis Affronti and Tyler Brown each had nine points as well.

Emory & Henry freshman guard Myles Turner (Richmond, Va.) posted a game-high 18 points while junior forwards Tyler Mullins (Hazard, Ky.) and Charles Smith (Fayetteville, N.C.) had 12 and 11 points, respectively. Senior forward Armando Murrell (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led all players with seven rebounds off the bench and added four points.

The Wasps will travel to Bridgewater, Va. on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m., ODAC contest with the Eagles of Bridgewater College.
