WOOSTER, Ohio – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (10-0, 2-0 ODAC) equaled its best record to start the season since the 1992-93 campaign on Friday afternoon with an 85-82 overtime win over Alma College (3-7, 0-0 MIAA) in the first day of The College of Wooster's E.M. "Mose" Hole/Kiwanis Classic. With the victory, the Wasps advance to the championship game of the event tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.

How It Happened
- The game featured 13 ties and 15 lead changes with neither squad leading by more than seven points the entire way.
- Emory & Henry got out to a 14-7 lead at the 15:25 mark of the first half thanks to a 9-2 scoring run. Alma responded with a 14-4 run covering 5:11 to take a 21-18 advantage. The teams continued to trade baskets for the remainder of the half with the Scots leading by a 36-35 margin at the intermission.
- The Wasps scored the first four points coming out of the break to go up 39-36, but nine straight by Alma gave the Scots a 45-39 lead with 14:38 on the clock. E&H answered back with an 11-2 run to go back ahead, 50-47, after back-to-back three-pointers by senior guard John Shelor (Giles, Va.).
- Alma would take a 62-56 lead with 5:19 remaining but Emory & Henry kept things close, forcing overtime on a basket by Shelor with 1:23 to go.
- In the extra period, the Wasps used an 8-2 run, capped by a three-pointer by Shelor to take an 82-76 lead. The Scots got within two points in the final minute, but E&H held off the rally to come away with the 85-82 win.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Five different Wasps reached double figures in scoring led by senior guard Shelor with 26 points on 10-for-18 shooting with six three-pointers.
- Sophomore guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) had 22 points, four rebounds, six assists and five steals while senior forward Chase Branscomb (Bristol, Tenn.) added a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards to go along with four assists.
- Junior forward Alic Wynn (Asheville, N.C.) had a double-double of his own with 10 points and 12 rebounds while freshman guard Tharon Suggs (Raleigh, N.C.) tacked on 11 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Alma Individual Leaders
- Kevin Scheibert put up a team-high 15 points and five rebounds while Doug Bradfield added 13 points and five rebounds off the bench. Rob Holmes had 12 points and eight boards as a reserve as well.
- Kevin Gamble added 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocks and Luke Lamoreaux had 10 points, three assists and three steals. Ryan Stevens notched nine points, nine rebounds and 12 assists as well for the Scots.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 45.3 percent (34-for-75) from the field, including a 5-for-7 (71.4%) mark in the extra period. The Wasps hit 10 three-pointers in the contest and were 7-for-14 (50%) at the free throw line.
- Alma went 30-for-65 (46.2%) with 15 threes on the afternoon. The Scots went to the line eight times, scoring seven points (87.5%).
- The two squads pulled down 39 rebounds each with E&H leading 11-7 on the offensive glass. The Wasps held a 10-8 advantage on second-chance points.
- Emory & Henry also led, 28-26, on points in the paint but Alma claimed an 11-9 margin on points off turnovers, despite trailing in turnovers, 18-11.

- Emory & Henry will face off against Wooster in the championship game of the 55th Annual E.M. "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 p.m. The Scots defeated Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 76-75, also in overtime Friday.
