Colin Molden Named ODAC Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week

Colin Molden has been named ODAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College's Colin Molden has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Tuesday. It is the second time in his career that Molden has earned weekly honors from the league office.

The reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year from Apex, North Carolina led the Wasps to a 3-1 record  across four games between Wednesday, December 20 and Saturday, December 30. He averaged 19.5 points per game as he shot 49.2 percent (30-for-61) from the field, hitting seven three pointers and connecting on 11-of-13 (84.6%) of his free throws. Molden added 16 assists, nine steals and seven rebounds across the stretch.

He was named the Don Lane Classic MVP after leading the Wasps to wins over Transylvania University (Dec. 20) and North Park University (Dec. 21). He went for 20 points and five assists against North Park after putting up 17 points the day before against Transy.

This past weekend, Molden was selected to the All-Classic Team for the College of Wooster's E.M. "Mose" Hole/Kiwanis Classic. He scored 22 points, four rebounds, six assists and five steals in E&H's win over Alma and added 19 points four assists, two rebounds and two steals in the championship game against Wooster.

Emory & Henry's 10-0 start to the season is the best since the 1992-93 campaign when the Wasps reeled off 10 straight victories en route to a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament and the Sweet 16.

Emory & Henry (10-1, 2-0 ODAC) will return to Old Dominion Athletic Conference action tomorrow when it visits Guilford College. Tipoff between the Wasps and Quakers is set for 5:00 p.m.
