Roanoke Men’s Basketball Beats Emory & Henry, 81-52, Tuesday Evening

SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's Basketball Team (4-1, 4-0 ODAC) remained undefeated in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play as it picked up an 81-52 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (0-1, 0-1 ODAC) Tuesday evening.

How It Happened
- Roanoke opened up a 9-3 lead at the 15:47 mark of the opening half and extended its lead to 17-9 with 10:29 on the clock. After the Wasps closed the gap to five, the Maroons went on a 17-2 run for a 36-16 advantage with 2:36 to go before the break. RC took a 43-25 lead into the locker room.
- Coming out of the intermission, the Maroons scored the first 10 points of the half to go up 53-25. E&H battled down the stretch but the deficit was too much to overcome as RC cruised to the 81-52 win.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior guard Robert Holliday, Jr. (Kansas City, Kan.) posted a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and three rebounds.
- Junior forward Liam Bonk (Theresa, N.Y.) had 10 points, two rebounds and two blocks in his E&H debut while freshmen Patrick Antonelli (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and Corey Keene (Grundy, Va.) scored five points each off the bench as Antonelli added three assists and two rebounds.

Roanoke Individual Leaders
- Justin Kuthan had a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench while Kasey Draper put up 16 points, six rebounds and two assists.
- Efosa Edosomwan registered 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists while Trent Dawson and Brandon Ellington tacked on nine points each.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 35.8 percent (19-for-53) for the game, making six triples. The Wasps hit 8-of-15 (53.3%) of their free throws.
- Roanoke went 29-for-59 (49.2%) from the floor, connecting on four shots from long range. The Maroons were an efficient 70.4 percent (19-for-27) at the line.
- RC held a 42-31 rebounding advantage and outscored E&H, 12-6, on second-chance points.
- The Maroons dominated down low, outscoring the Wasps, 50-18, on points in the paint.
