Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Routs Warren Wilson, 109-66, In Season Finale Thursday

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (2-8) closed the season in grand fashion as it raced past Warren Wilson College (0-3) for the second time in three days, defeating the Owls by a 109-66 score. It was the most points scored by the Wasps since putting up 127 markers at Johnson University on December 7, 2016.

Freshman guard Patrick Antonelli (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) led the way for the Wasps posting a triple-double with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. It was the first triple-double for an E&H player since Bobby Stafford accomplished the feat against Ferrum on November 23, 2010.

How It Happened
- Warren Wilson led by a 4-2 score at the 18:45 mark of the first half before Emory & Henry opened the floodgates, putting together a 24-5 run which covered 6:54. Up 42-21 with 4:06 to go in the first half, the Wasps went on a 17-7 run to lead, 59-28, at the intermission.
- Coming out of the break, E&H extended its advantage to 34 (62-68) with 19:18 on the clock. The Owls closed the gap to 25 with just under 14 minutes remaining but a 26-11 scoring spurt by the Wasps made it a 40-point game, 94-54, with 4:43 to go. Emory & Henry continued to extend its advantage and led by as much 46 in the final minute as it cruised to the 109-66 victory.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Antonelli was one of six Wasps to score in double figures as all 10 players who suited up put their names in the scoring column.
- Junior guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) posted a team-high 17 points to go along with six assists and three steals while sophomore guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) had 16 points, six boards, three assists and two steals off the bench.
- Junior guard Tyler Arnold (Kingsport, Tenn.) went for 14 points as freshman guard Andrew Hensley (Kingsport, Tenn.) and sophomore guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) contributed 12 and 10 points off the bench, respectively.

Warren Wilson Individual Leaders
- Brent Davis and DeMarco Jackson each had 12 points and four rebounds off the bench for WWC as Jerry Daye contributed 12 points three rebounds and two assists.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot a season-best 58 percent (40-for-69) from the field and hit 15 three-pointers. The Wasps made 14-of-20 (70%) of their free throws.
- Warren Wilson made 27-of-59 (45.8%) of its shots and went just 8-for-11 (72.7%) at the stripe.
- E&H held a 43-25 rebounding advantage and used 19 offensive boards to lead, 24-9, on second-chance points. The Wasps also outscored the Owls by a 25-6 margin on points off turnovers.
