Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Honored For Academic Achievement

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team has received a team academic honor from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, NABC official announced this week. It is the first time since 2016 that the Wasps have been recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom.

Emory & Henry was one of 303 programs from all levels of college basketball to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes a team grade-point average of 3.0 during the 2021-22 academic year. Emory & Henry one of just four schools from the NCAA Division II Southeast Region to receive the honor.

"Academic success is a core value of the NABC and a priority shared by men's basketball programs across the country," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Excellence in the classroom requires hard work and dedication, and the NABC considers it a privilege to honor these deserving student-athletes and the coaches and staff who support them."

Emory & Henry posted a 16-10 overall record on the court during the 2021-22 season, the team's first winning season since 2018-19.
