Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Announces Tournament Dates For Renaissance Season

EMORY, Va. – With the "rebirth" of the Emory & Henry College Men's Golf program just weeks away, Head Coach Justin Harvey is pleased to announce the team's schedule for the 2016-17 season. The Wasps will play in four tournaments over the months of September and October, and add four more tournaments during the spring semester, their first action since the program was disbanded following the 2007-08 season.

"Our fall schedule is extremely exciting because we will immediately be able to get experience against ODAC teams and see how we stand," said Harvey. "This will drive us to be ready for the spring part of our season and the ODAC Championship Tournament."

First up for E&H is the Shenandoah University Invitational at the Winchester Country Club on Sunday, September 18 and Monday, September 19.

The Wasps will next compete on Monday and Tuesday, September 26 and 27 at the King University Invitational. This tournament is set to be played at the Country Club of Bristol (Tenn.).

A trip across the Commonwealth awaits E&H on the second weekend in October. E&H will see action in Randolph-Macon College's 16th Annual Ted Keller Memorial. The first round will be on Monday, October 10 while the tournament will conclude on Tuesday, October 11 at Hanover Country Club in Ashland.

The final event for the fall half of the season will be the Virginia State Golf Association Intercollegiate, hosted by The Apprentice School. Played at Williamsburg Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia, the tournament will be held on Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18.

Emory & Henry will kick off the spring portion of its season at the TaylorMade/adidas Intercollegiate hosted at the Cotton Dike Course of the Dataw Island Club in South Carolina on March 13 and 14. The Wasps will have their toughest test of the season so far, playing 36 continuous holes on Monday with the third and final round on Tuesday.

Next up is the Tusculum Men's Invitational at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tennessee over the weekend of Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26.

The last regular season tournament for E&H is the Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate, hosted by Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. The tournament will run from Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 2 at the Paradise Point Golf Course. The first and second rounds will be played alongside active duty and retired members of the United States Marine Corps with the third round played in the traditional intercollegiate format.

The Wasps will conclude their season at the 2016 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship which will run from Sunday, April 23 to Tuesday, April 25. For a second year in a row, the tournament will be contested at Stoney Creek Golf Course in Wintergreen, Virginia. The championship will consist of 54-holes over the three days.
