BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team is sitting in seventh place after round one of the King University Invitational Monday. The Wasps are the only NCAA Division III team in the field which is made of NCAA Division II squads from the Conference Carolinas, South Atlantic Conference, Mountain East Conference and Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Emory & Henry
- As a team, Emory & Henry shot a +24 (304) in the opening round, posting three of their four scores in the 70s.
- The Wasps are five strokes out of sixth place behind the University of Virginia's College at Wise (+19/299).
- Freshman Carlos Andrade (Samborondón, ECUADOR) is tied for 16th after shooting a +3 (73).
- Freshman Ben Owen (Rogersville, Tenn.) carded a plus-five (75) on the day to tie for 24th.
- Freshman Richard Fishwick (Roanoke, Va.) is a stroke behind Owen with a 76 (+6) and is tied for 28th.
- Senior T.J. Widener (Damascus, Va.) and junior Matthew Largen (Abingdon, Va.) shot 80 and 89, respectively for the Wasps.
The Leaders
- Nathan Bull of Pfeiffer University has the lead after 18 holes with a score of -4 (66).
- Pfeiffer leads the tournament after shooting 278 (-2) with three players in the top eight.
- Erskine College (284/+4) and North Greenville University (285/+5) round out the top three.
