Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth At King Invitational, Carlos Andrade Takes Third

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team finished the King University Invitational Tuesday in eighth place. Though the Wasps were the only NCAA Division III team in the field, freshman Carlos Andrade (Samborondón, ECUADOR) made it back-to-back Top-10 finishes with his third-place finish this week.

Emory & Henry
- For a second day in a row Emory & Henry shot a +24 (304) to finish the tournament with a +48 (608).
- Andrade shot the lowest score of the day, a three-under 67, moving up 13 places into a tie for third place. The rookie adds a top-5 to his top-10 finish at last week's Shenandoah Invitational.
- Freshman Ben Owen (Rogersville, Tenn.) added a 74 (+4) to his 75 from Monday to finish nine-over (149) in 27th.
- Freshman Richard Fishwick (Roanoke, Va.) had a round of 81 to card an overall score of +17 (157) while senior T.J. Widener (Damascus, Va.) and junior Matthew Largen (Abingdon, Va.) finished fourth and fifth on the team.

The Leaders
- Nathan Bull of Pfeiffer University added to his lead with another round under par to win the event at -5 (135).
- Pfeiffer had a pair of players tied for third at even par (140) to push them to a 13-stroke win as a team.
- Erskine College (567/+7) and North Greenville University (571/+11) rounded out the top three teams in the event.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry's next tournament will be the Ted Keller Memorial on Monday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 11. The two-day, 36-hole tournament hosted by Randolph-Macon College will  be held at Hanover Country Club in Ashland, Virginia.
