GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team is currently in ninth place out of 18 competing teams after round one of the 24th Annual Tusculum Invitational Saturday. The Wasps are the only NCAA Division III program in the field, which consists mostly of NCAA Division II teams from the South Atlantic Conference, in addition to several NAIA institutions and community colleges.

Round One
- Freshman Carlos Andrade (Guayaquil, ECUADOR) shot a +2 (73) in his opening round and is tied with three other golfers for 15th in the field.
- Freshman Ben Owen (Rogersville, Tenn.) is two shots back of Andrade after carding a 75 and is tied for 28th. Sophomore Ryan Hyatt (Bristol, Va.) put up a 76 (+5), and is part of a group of 16 players knotted at the 33rd position.
- Sophomore Wes Blaylock (Bristol, Va.) is tied for 57th with a +7 (78) while senior T.J. Widener (Damascus, Va.) shot 79 (+8; T-62).
The Leaders
- Lewis Scott and Kaleb Kuhn of the University of Northwestern Ohio, Spartanburg Methodist's Jake Corn and Tusculum's David Whinery are all tied for the lead at -1 (70) through 18 holes.
- Tusculum leads the tournament by five strokes (285; +1) over Spartanburg Methodist (290; +6) while Northwestern Ohio and Brevard College are tied for third at +7 (291).
