Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Finishes 13th At Tusculum Invitational Sunday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team finished 13th out of 18 teams at the 24th Annual Tusculum Invitational Sunday. The Wasps were the only NCAA Division III program in the field, which consisted mostly of NCAA Division II teams from the South Atlantic Conference, in addition to several NAIA institutions and community colleges.

Round Two
- Emory & Henry closed the tournament by shooting a team 312 (+28) to finish the event at +46 (302-312 - 614).
- Freshman Carlos Andrade (Guayaquil, ECUADOR) shot a 76 (+5) on Sunday to take 31st-place (+6; 149).
-  Sophomore Ryan Hyatt (Bristol, Va.) made it back-to-back rounds of 76 (+5) to finish the tournament at +10 (152), tying for 43rd. Freshman Ben Owen (Rogersville, Tenn.) shot 78 on Sunday to finish tied for 47th with a 153 (+11).
- Senior T.J. Widener (Damascus, Va.) ended the weekend tied for 74th (79-82 – 161; +19) while sophomore Wes Blaylock (Bristol, Va.) tied for 81st (78-86 – 164; +22).

The Winners
- Luis Vega of Brevard College and Adam Lumley from Mars Hill University tied for the overall victory at -4 (138). Vega was named the tournament's medalist after a scorecard playoff.
- Host Tusculum won the team championship, shooting a 569 (+1). Brevard was second, four strokes behind, with a +5 (573).

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will have a quick turnaround before its next tournament, the Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate, held this coming weekend (Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2).
- The three-day, 54-hole tournament will take place at Paradise Point Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune outside of Jacksonville, North Carolina.
