EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Department of Athletics and Interim Director of Athletics Anne Crutchfield are pleased to announce the hiring of Bill Pearce as the College's next Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach. Pearce will begin his duties immediately.

"We are excited to welcome Bill to our staff," commented Crutchfield. "I believe his experience as an educator as well as his experience in the golfing world will provide our program with the stability and leadership it needs to be successful in the highly-competitive Old Dominion Athletic Conference."

Pearce joins the collegiate coaching ranks after serving for the past seven years as a middle school teacher in the Columbus, Ohio metro area. While in Central Ohio, he coached baseball, basketball and football at Rosemore Middle School.

Prior to his career in education, Pearce spent over 20 years in the banking industry, including 14 years with JP Morgan Chase. He was also the Assistant Golf Pro at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Ohio for two years.

"I am extremely excited to join such a growing program," said Pearce. "I look forward to growing it into a consistent winner."

Pearce earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Otterbein College in 1987 where he was a member of the baseball team. He completed a Master of Arts degree in teaching with an emphasis on science and social studies, also from Otterbein in 2011.
