Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Finishes Ninth At Eagle Invitational Sunday

STAFFORD, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team finished in ninth place at the Eagle Invitational, hosted by the University of Mary Washington. Junior Wes Blaylock (Bristol, Va.) led the way for the Wasps as he finished tied for medalist honors at +4 (146) for the weekend. It was the first individual win for an Emory & Henry golfer since the program was revived in the 2016-17 season.

Round One
- Blaylock led the Wasps on Saturday, shooting a +3 (74) to sit tied for third place. Freshman Wesley Jones (Seymour, Tenn.) carded an 80 (+9) in his first 18 holes.
- Freshman Hunter Watson (Jonesville, Tenn.) turned in a + 18 (89) while freshman Isfandyar Khan (Lahore, PAKISTAN) shot a 93 (+22).

Round Two
- Blaylock shot the low round of the tournament Sunday, a +1 (71) to finish tied for first place.
- Jones posted a 74 (+3) and completed the event in 14th while Watson shot 92 to finish 56th and Khan a 94, which was good for 65th.

The Winners
- York (Pa.) College claimed the team title at +32 (306-294 – 600), putting four players inside the top eight. The University of Mary Washington was second just six strokes back while Rosemont College was third.
- Joining Blaylock atop the leaderboard at +4 was Mary Washington's Sebastian Bonte. Morgan Uhlick of York took third, just one shot off the lead.

- Emory & Henry will be back in action on Monday, April 2 when it competes in the Lynchburg Invitational at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, Virginia.
