Emory & Henry Hires Bill Mannino As Head Men’s & Women’s Golf Coach

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Department of Athletics and Interim Director of Athletics Anne Crutchfield are pleased to announce that Bill Mannino has joined the staff as Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach.

"I am so grateful to be joining the Emory & Henry family," commented Mannino. "I am looking forward to working with the student-athletes and aim to give them a great experience on and off the course. With hard work and commitment, I know our golfers will improve quickly in the ODAC standings."

Mannino joins Emory & Henry after coaching golf for 11 years at Hollins University. While at the Roanoke, Virginia institution, he led HU to a No. 28 ranking in NCAA Division III and saw two student-athletes compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships, earning All-America honors. Mannino was also a member of the Division III Regional Advisory Committee for women's golf for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Bill Mannino to the Emory & Henry Athletics family," said Crutchfield. "He has a long-standing record of coaching success at both the Division I and Division III levels. We look forward to embracing his vision for our men's & women's golf programs."

Additionally, Mannino served for three years as Athletics Director and Chair of the Physical Education Department at Hollins. He managed all the day-to-day aspects of the varsity athletics program and also oversaw the physical education department. Responsible for a staff of 11, Mannino also supervised all budgeting, purchasing and facility projects.

Prior to working at Hollins, Mannino was the Head Men's Golf Coach at Temple University for three years. He led the team to a pair of tournament victories, 16 top five team finishes and a Top 100 ranking from Golfstat.

In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Mannino has spent time as a golf professional at several clubs across the East Coast including Roanoke Country Club. He has also worked in the marketing and advertising industry, most recently with the BH Media Group and The Roanoke Times.

Mannino received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Temple in 1997. He led the Owls to a pair of Atlantic 10 Championships and was the A-10 Individual Champion and an All-Atlantic 10 First-Teamer in 1993.

Emory & Henry recently completed its second year of men's golf following an eight-year hiatus. The Wasps played their first season of women's golf in 2017-18.
