Emory & Henry Men's Golf Starts The Year At The Castle Classic Monday

BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team got the 2021-22 season started on Monday at the Castle Classic, hosted by Bluefield University. The Wasps sit in sixth place after 18 holes of play.

Freshman Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) is tied for sixth after round one, turning in a +4 (74) while fifth-year Isfandyar Khan (Lahore, PAKISTAN) carded an 81 (+11), good for T-23rd.

Sophomore Sam Vandyne (Max Meadows, Va.) and freshmen Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) and Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.) are all tied for 28th, after shooting a +16 (86) on Monday.

The Leaders
Bluefield's Patrick Dodson shot an even par (70) on Monday to lead teammate Noah Moler by one stroke. The Rams are tied with the Buffaloes of Milligan University in the team competition at +19 (299), leading third-place West Virginia Tech by 10 strokes.
