Emory & Henry Men's Golf Opens Play At The Buzz-Off Invitational Saturday

ABINGDON, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team got its final tournament of the fall season started on Saturday, hosting the Buzz-Off Invitational. Round one remains incomplete as darkness forced a suspension of play with the final group on the 18th fairway.

Freshman Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) is atop the leaderboard after firing at +2 (74) on Saturday while sophomore Sam Vandyne (Max Meadows, Va.) shot an 82 (+10) to sit second on the team.

Freshman Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.) carded an 85 (+13) in round one while senior Alex Cameron (Mascot, Tenn.) posted a +18 (90).

Freshman Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) was unable to complete his round prior to the suspension of play.

The Leaders
With each team having a golfer out on the course, there are no team scores yet available.

Boone is the clubhouse leader with his +2 (74), as he is three shots clear of Bluefield University's Hunter Bowers at 77 (+5).

Up Next
Play will resume for the final group at 11:30 on Sunday morning. Round two will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.
