ABINGDON, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team picked up its first tournament win of the year Sunday afternoon, taking first at the Buzz-Off Invitational at Glenrochie Country Club.
Play began with freshman Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) completing his first round on Sunday morning to card a 76 (+4).

Freshman Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) went wire-to-wire with back-to-back rounds of 74 (+2) to win the tournament at +4. Ojeda carded a 75 (+3) on Sunday to finish third overall.
Freshman Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.) shaved six strokes off Saturday's round to shoot a 79 (+7) and finish 11th overall while sophomore Sam Vandyne (Max Meadows, Va.) went for an 86 (+14) to take 13th. Senior Alex Cameron (Mascot, Tenn.) posted an 84 (+12), finishing 17th overall.
Individually, freshman Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) shot 81-80 (+17) to finish ninth overall as senior Chris Schaff (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and freshman Price Duff (Knoxville, Tenn.) went +26 and +27 for the tournament respectively to take 14th and 15th.
The Leaders
Boone captured the individual championship for his first collegiate win, topping Alex Arnold of the University of Virginia's College at Wise by two strokes (76-74 – 150).
The Wasps overall score of +53 (317-312 – 629) beat the Cavaliers by three shots (321-311 – 632).
