Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Third Following After Round One At Cateechee Cup

HARTWELL, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team embarked on its next-to-last tournament of the season on Monday, the Cateechee Cup, hosted by Emmanuel (Ga.) College. The Wasps are in third place following 18 holes of action.

Freshman Peyton Spangler (Roanoke, Va.) sits in a three-way tie for sixth place after carding a +4 (75) in round one while freshman Slade Aliff (Hardy, Va.) is 11th overall with a 77 (+6).

Junior Avery Alexander (Christiansburg, Va.) and freshman Jordan Kuang Kyaw (Yangon, MYANMAR) are amongst a five-way tie for 14th with rounds of 81 (+10) while sophomore Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) is tied for 20th place at 83 (+12).

The Leaders
Emmanuel leads the way after shooting a 292 (+8) on Monday while Spartanburg Methodist College is second at 302 (+18). E&H sits in third place with a score of +30 (314), nine shots ahead of the University of Virginia's College at Wise (323).

Pablo Rivero and Oriol Fort each from Emmanuel share a one-shot lead at +1 (72) over EC's Pelayo Sol and SMC's Eli Ricker (73, +2).
