Eastern Mennonite Men’s Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 1-0, Saturday

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Eastern Mennonite University Men's Soccer Team (3-4-1, 1-0 ODAC) picked up a 1-0 victory in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday, defeating visiting Emory & Henry College (3-3, 1-1 ODAC).

The Royals got on the board in the middle of the 12th minute as Mitchell Leap scored on a deflection off of a free kick. Jared Ross and Brent Yoder were credited with assists on the play.

EMU outshot E&H 22-8 and held a 6-0 advantage on corner kicks.

Patrick Fox picked up the complete game shutout for Eastern Mennonite while Emory & Henry junior goalkeeper Justin Spencer (Statesville, N.C.) suffered the loss despite making eight saves.

Emory & Henry will return to the pitch on Wednesday when it hosts Roanoke College at 7:00 p.m.
