BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Soccer Team (4-6) got back on the winning track Thursday afternoon as it defeated Southern Virginia University (4-4-2) by a 2-0 score on the road.
E&H struck in the 24thh minute to go up 1-0 on the Knights. Freshman midfielder Drew Rasberry (Raleigh, N.C.) took a pass from senior forward P.J. Henson (Charlotte, N.C.) and placed it in the back of the net.
The Wasps would score again just after the half-hour mark as Henson tallied his fourth goal of the season.
Emory & Henry would hold Southern Virginia scoreless for the contest to pick up its first win in five matches.
The Wasps outshot the Knights 14-11 and held a 6-4 advantage on corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Justin Spencer (Statesville, N.C.) picked up the win for E&H with five saves on the night.
Emory & Henry will travel to Hampden-Sydney on Saturday to take on the Tigers in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action. The contest is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
