Bridgewater Men's Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0, Saturday

EMORY, Va. - The Bridgewater College Men's Soccer Team (5-8, 2-3 ODAC) picked up a 3-0 victory over Emory & Henry College (4-8, 1-5 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday night at Fred Selfe Stadium.

The Eagles got on the board early in the 41st minute as Kevin Gorman finished a pass from Derek Newsome from the right side of the field. Bridgewater would take the 1-0 lead into the half.

After the break, Bridgewater pushed its lead to 2-0 on a goal by Sawyer Janes as he dribbled up the right side of the field and past the defense, finishing with a shot that found the far side of the net.

The Eagles would add a final insurance goal with 24:25 left to play. Janes found the foot of Adam Riner and he played a perfect shot into the back of the net for the score.

Junior goalkeeper Justin Spencer (Statesville, N.C.) suffered the loss despite making two saves for the Wasps while sophomore midfielder Seb Marley (Worster, ENGLAND) led the team with four shots.

Emory & Henry will take to the road and face the Randolph College WildCats on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., in ODAC action.
