Mount Union Men’s Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 2-0, Friday At Capital/Fort Rapids Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Mount Union (1-0) picked up 2-0 victory over Emory & Henry College (0-1) Friday afternoon in Capital University's Fort Rapids Invitational.

The Wasps and the Purple Raiders battled through a scoreless first half, but Mount Union struck first early in the 57th minute thanks to Chris Felker's shot from the top of the box that found the back of the net.

Mount Union added a second goal with 10:15 left to go in the match. Joey Trocchio put a shot past the E&H keeper on the left side of the frame.

E&H senior goalkeeper Justin Spencer (Statesville, N.C.) made three saves despite the loss as Felker and Trocchio each had a match-high four shots for Mount Union.

Emory & Henry will face host Capital University on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
