DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College Men's Soccer Team (3-1) picked up a 3-1 non-conference victory over Emory & Henry College (2-4) Wednesday evening at Walker Field.

The Lions got on the board just 18 seconds into the match as Justin Whitaker scored an unassisted goal. Piedmont made it 2-0 midway through the 21st minute when Sidney Smith took a pass from Vincent Thomas and put it past the keeper.

The 2-0 margin would carry though the first half.

After the intermission, Whitaker tallied his second goal of the match at the 54:40 mark.

Emory & Henry was able to take advantage of a lax Piedmont defense as sophomore forward Konner Dozark (Tampa, Fla.) found the back of the net less than three minutes later (57:38). Senior midfielder Will Bodfish (Morganton, N.C.) was credited with the assist.

Peidmont's Kenneth Hearn made six saves as he picked up the win in goal while E&H senior Justin Spencer (Statesville, N.C.) stopped four shots despite the loss.

Emory & Henry will return to Fred Selfe Stadium on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., when it will host Sewanee: The University of the South.
