Bridgewater Men’s Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 4-0, In ODAC Play Saturday

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College Men's Soccer Team (4-6, 3-0 ODAC) remained perfect in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play with a 4-0 win over Emory & Henry College (3-3-1, 1-2 ODAC) Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles opened up a three-goal advantage at the half and never looked back. Max Chacon opened the scoring late in the 22nd minute as he was assisted by Connor Henderson. Bridgewater made it 2-0 at the 24:40 mark when Chacon passed the ball across the box to a waiting Avery Walker for the goal.

With 21 seconds to go before the half, Chacon got his second score of the match. Ricky Capuano assisted on the score as the Eagles extended their lead to 3-0.

Bridgewater made the final margin 4-0 in the 53rd minute. Jake Spiegel served up a pass into the box which found Henderson, who put it past the keeper for the goal.

The Eagles held a 14-6 advantage on shots including a 7-1 margin in shots on goal. Bridgewater had six corner kicks to E&H's one but was called offside on seven different occasions in the match.

BC's Kevin Morris made one save as he earned the shutout in goal while the Emory & Henry tandem of sophomore Didier Grillet (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Daniel Scharisch (Newport News, Va.) made three saves despite the loss.

Emory & Henry will remain on the road on Tuesday when it travels to Buena Vista for a 6:00 p.m., non-conference contest with Southern Virginia University.
