HAMPDEN SYDNEY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Soccer Team (10-6-1, 2-4-1 ODAC) scored twice in the opening half to earn a 2-1 win over Hampden-Sydney College (6-7-1, 1-5-1 ODAC) Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Wasps put themselves in solid position to earn a bid to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time since 2001 as one week remains in the regular season.

How It Happened
- E&H got on the board at the 10:20 mark as junior forward Jordan Couch (Abingdon, Va.) tallied his 21st goal of the season off a deflection.
- Junior defender Chandler Copeland (Newport News, Va.) struck in the 37th minute for his first career goal, making the score 2-0 in favor of the Wasps.
- Hampden-Sydney spoiled the shutout with 27 minutes remaining as William Jackson found the back of the net.
- The attackers for both teams kept the goalkeepers busy in the final half hour with a total of nine shots on goal, three of which came for the Wasps.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Couch finished the game with five shots to lead all players, putting three on target, including his goal.
- Copeland's only strike of the contest proved to be the difference-maker and match-winner.
- Senior midfielder Zach Quest (Charlotte, N.C.) had a pair of attempts on frame while sophomore forward Tyequis Stallins (Chesapeake, Va.) and senior goalkeeper Didier Grillet (Matthews, N.C.) also put shots on goal.
- Grillet picked up the win, making nine saves on a total of 17 shots faced.

- Jackson and Hunter Weiland each had four shots in the contest with Jackson's strike in the 63rdd minute putting the Tigers on board.
- Ryan Turner and Cole Burton took a pair of shots each.
- Cameron McFarlane made six saves despite the loss, playing the full 90 minutes in goal.
