William Peace Men’s Soccer Beats Emory & Henry Wednesday Night

CARY, N.C. – The William Peace University Men's Soccer Team (5-0) scored three goals in the opening 20 minutes on its way to a 7-0 win against visiting Emory & Henry College (1-5) Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- WPU got on the board in the 12th minute on an own goal by the E&H defense. The Pacers made it 2-0 less than 30 seconds later when Danny Alvarez converted a penalty kick. Ivan Ponce pushed the Margin to 3-0 at the 17:54 mark with an unassisted goal.
- William Peace extended the lead to a 4-0 halftime margin on a score by Donnie Leahy assisted by Reid Taylor.
- In the second half, WPU saw Ponce score twice within six minutes (53:10, 59:00) to complete the hat trick and make it a 6-0 contest. The Pacers capped the scoring on an unassisted goal by Alex Hernandez in the 63rd minute.
