Emory & Henry Men’s Soccer Tops Warren Wilson, 1-0, With Second-Half Goal Thursday

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Soccer Team (3-9) broke a scoreless tie in the 66th minute on its way to a 1-0 win over Warren Wilson College (0-13) Thursday night at home.

How It Happened
- The Wasps and Owls battled through a scoreless first half as both teams had seven chances. E&H put one shot off the woodwork and had another called back because of being offside.
- In the second, Emory & Henry broke through at the 65:03 mark as junior forward Nino Egli (Maseltrangen, SWITZERLAND) crossed a ball in from the right side that found the head of junior forward Ryan Boyette (Fredericksburg, Va.) for what would end up as the match-winning goal.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore midfielder Louis Pereira-Scott (Glasgow, SCOTLAND) led all players with six shots, putting two on target while junior midfielder Ben Ashfield (Reading, ENGLAND) had five shots.
- Junior goalkeeper Spencer Scott (Stephens City, Va.) earned the shutout victory, making four saves.

Warren Wilson Individual Leaders
- Alister Gardner put up five shots for the Owls while Ahmed Keller put both of his attempts on target.
- Parker Davis suffered the loss in goal for WWC despite making seven saves.
