Emory & Henry Women's Swimming Remains Sixth, Men Seventh After Day Three Of ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams continued action on Saturday in Day Three of the 2020 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships. The women remain sixth of 12 teams while the men hold on to the seventh spot.

The Basics

The Men – Saturday
- Event 13 – 200-Yard Medley Relay – Freshmen Noah Wilson (Frederick, Md.), Luc Grillet (Matthews, N.C.), Antonio Walters (Elon, N.C.) and sophomore Braxton Justice (Spanishburg, W.Va.) set a new team record with a swim of 1:40.16, finishing fifth.
- Event 17 – 100-Yard Butterfly –
Walters took 12th in the consolation finals with a time of :54.91. He broke the E&H record in the prelims, swimming a :54.90 while sophomore Nick Moore (Lebanon, Va.) was 27th.
- Event 19 – 200-Yard Freestyle –
Justice was 15th in the B-Final, swimming a 1:49.91. His time of 1:49.77 in the morning session was good for a new school record while senior Nick Barr (Chilhowie, Va.) finished 20th.
- Event 21 – 100-Yard Breaststroke –
Grillet finished eighth with a time of 1:00.22, crushing the previous record in the preliminaries with a swim of :59.13. Freshman Ryan Spangler (Daleville, Va.) was 21st while senior Jarod Bracero (Hoboken, N.J.) and freshman Jackson Cheatham (Appomattox, Va.) were 26th and 30th, respectively.
- Event 23 – 100-Yard Backstroke –
Wilson came in 16th (:57.97) as Madaris was 24th and Bracero was 26th in the prelims.

The Women – Saturday
- Event 14 – 200-Yard Medley Relay – Senior Olivia Anson (Apex, N.C.) and sophomores Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.), Anne-Louise Tunstall (Mount Airy, N.C.) and Leah Mumpower (Bristol. Va.) took sixth place (1:56.37).
- Event 16 – 400-Yard Individual Medley –
Freshman Hannah Patton (Marion, Va.) was 20th in the preliminaries, clocking a 5:45.86.
- Event 18 – 100-Yard Butterfly –
Tunstall took 14th in the consolation final in 1:03.95 while freshman Kate Prager (Concord, N.C.) was 19th in the morning session.
- Event 20 – 200-Yard Freestyle –
Anson notched a sixth-place finish of 1:56.70 and freshman Kenzie Welch (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 16th in 2:04.43. Junior Lauren Trotter (Bristol, Va.) was 23rd in the preliminaries.
- Event 22 – 100-Yard Breaststroke –
Sweigart was 15th in the finals at 1:11.99 while Mumpower was the second alternate, taking 18th in the preliminaries. Freshman Paige Woodworth (Davidson, N.C.) finished 22nd overall.

- Emory & Henry will conclude the 2020 ODAC Championships on Sunday. Preliminaries are set for 10:00 a.m., while the Finals will begin at 5:00 p.m.
