Emory & Henry Men’s Tennis Defeats Greensboro, 7-2, Tuesday At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (3-2) picked up its second win in as many days, defeating Greensboro College (1-3) by a 7-2 score at home.

The Wasps jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles portion of the match.  Emory & Henry didn't drop a game, winning the three matches by a combined 24-0 score.

In the singles portion of competition, E&H picked up wins in the top three flights to seal the match victory. Junior Adam Henderson (Abingdon, Va.) won at number one singles, 6-1, 7-5, over Matt Miller while senior Mike Young (Lawrenceville, Ga.) picked up a win at No. 2, defeating Crosby Simms, 7-6 (7-2), 6-1. In the third singles competition, junior Webster Gilley (Bristol, Tenn.) won easily, 6-1, 6-0, over Matt Moscatello.

Emory & Henry junior Daniel Ohlman (Ocala, Fla.) also picked up a victory at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-4, over Matt Troy.

E&H will travel to Lexington, Va., this weekend for three Old Dominion Athletic Conference matches. The Wasps will take on Virginia Wesleyan College and Randolph-Macon College on Saturday and will face off against Washington and Lee University on Sunday.
