Bridgewater Men's Tennis Rallies To Defeat Emory & Henry, 6-3, Tuesday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. - The Bridgewater College Men's Tennis Team (8-5, 5-1 ODAC) earned a 6-3 come-from-behind victory over Emory & Henry College (13-6, 6-3 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Tuesday afternoon. The match was a continuation from Saturday, March 31 which was rained out after doubles play was completed.

Emory & Henry took a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match was completed. Juniors Matt Nelson (Galax, Va.) and Adam Henderson (Abingdon, Va.) won 8-4 at number one doubles while seniors Chip Wintringham (Burlington, N.C.) and Mike Young (Lawrenceville, Ga.) took home a 8-4 victory at the second doubles flight.

Bridgewater bounced back and won five of the six singles matches to take the contest. E&H's lone singles win came from Henderson at number three, as he won by a (6-2, 6-3) tally.

The Wasps will play host to the Highland Cavaliers of the University of Virginia's College at Wise on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The contest will be a doubleheader with the women's team as well.
