Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Rolls On Over Guilford, 7-2, Sunday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (11-2, 6-1 ODAC) kept rolling Sunday afternoon as it picked up a 7-2 win over Guilford College (5-6, 3-3 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

E&H took a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match. Seniors Matt Nelson (Galax, Va.) and Adam Henderson (Abingdon, Va.) won 8-3 at the top doubles matchup while senior Zach Eccher (Madison, Ala.) and freshman Alex Minasyan (Moscow, RUSSIA) claimed an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, freshman James Keighley (Heswall, Mercyside, ENGLAND) won the featured singles match 7-6, 7-6 while Minasyan earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at the second singles flight.

Nelson only dropped one game to his opponent, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Henderson earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at the fourth singles pairing while senior Webster Gilley (Bristol, Tenn.) took a 6-1, 6-3 win home at No. 5 singles.

Emory & Henry will host Roanoke College on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.
