Emory & Henry Men’s Tennis Places Six On All-ODAC Teams

FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team has seen six of its players named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference teams, ODAC officials announced Thursday. Each of the six singles flights and the top two doubles teams were chosen for all-league honors.

Freshman James Keighley (Heswall, Mercyside, ENGLAND) and senior Webster Gilley (Bristol, Tenn.) were named to the All-ODAC Second Team at No. 1 and No. 5 singles, respectively, and were honored as a duo at No. 2 doubles with second-team laurels.

Seniors Matt Nelson (Galax, Va.) and Adam Henderson (Abingdon, Va.) earned All-ODAC Second Team honors as well for their season at No. 1 doubles.

Nelson (No. 3) and Henderson (No. 4) picked up recognition in singles play as well, being named to the all-league third team. Freshman Alex Minasyan (Moscow, RUSSIA) and senior Zach Eccher (Madison, Ala.) were also selected All-ODAC Third Team for No. 2 singles and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Five different players reached double-digit wins in singles matches while all three doubles pairings won at least 10 matches. Nelson claimed a grand total of 30 victories on the year across all competition.

On the year, Emory & Henry posted a 14-4 record with an 8-2 mark in ODAC play. The Wasps won 12 of 13 matches during a stretch during the year.
