Emory & Henry Men’s Tennis Splits A Pair Of Matches Monday

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (2-6) split its pair of matches Monday at the PTR Spring TennisFest. The Wasps fell by a 7-2 score to Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday morning but claimed a 5-4 victory in the afternoon over Eastern Nazarene College for their first win of the spring.

John Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) won both of their singles matches on the day at the second and third flight, respectively. Sophomore Alex Minasyan (Moscow, RUSSIA) and freshman Eric Logan (Abingdon, Va.) picked up victories in singles against Eastern Nazarene to help the Wasps' cause.

Minasyan teamed up with Aliev at the top doubles position to win 8-2 against ENC and give E&H the team victory in the nightcap match.

Emory & Henry will have a day off on Tuesday and will return to action against Assumption College on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
