Randolph Men's Tennis Defeats Emory & Henry, 5-3, Friday Night

EMORY, Va./LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College Men's Tennis Team (5-5, 2-2 ODAC) earned a 5-3 win over Emory & Henry College (3-9, 1-4 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action late Friday night at The Sports Racket club.

Sophomore Alex Minasyan (Moscow, RUSSIA) picked up a pair of wins on the day, winning at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1) and No. 1 doubles (8-3) along side freshman John Ferguson (Gate City, Va.). Freshman Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) notched a three-set victory at the third singles flight (6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4)).

E&H was scheduled to play on Saturday against Lynchburg College, but the rain that covered much of the Commonwealth caused the match to be postponed.

The Wasps' home doubleheader on Sunday has also been postponed. The E&H men were set to host the Cougars of Averett University while the women were slated to take on Sweet Briar College in an ODAC match. Both matches will be rescheduled for a later date.
