Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Falls, 5-0, to Ohio Wesleyan

Hilton Head, S.C. – The Wasps (2-5, 0-2 ODAC) took on Ohio Wesleyan (5-7) in their second match at the PTR Tennis SpringFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Due to darkness, the match was played to decision. Meaning the first team to pick up five wins, wins the match. The Wasps ended up falling as a team 5-0.

Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) and Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) started at the one spot in doubles for the Wasps. The tandem dropped the match 8-2. At the two position, John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Dillan Dodson (Hampton, VA.) fell 8-2. While Jonathan Romano (Bland, Va.) and Alex Polydoroff (Falcon Heights, Minn.) fought hard once again but lost 8-4.

Ferguson played one singles for the Wasps, but did not get to finish his match. Aliev dropped both sets 6-1 at the two spot. And Funkhouser went down 6-3, 6-0 to seal the 5-0 victory for the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan. The four, five, and six did not get to finish their matches.

The Wasps play Heidelberg Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
