Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Falls To Randolph, 9-0, Saturday Afternoon

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Emory & Henry men's tennis team (1-7, 0-3 ODAC) dropped their third ODAC to the WildCats of Randolph College (7-3, 2-2 ODAC) on Saturday afternoon, 9-0.  The match was the third road match in as many day for the Wasps.

At one doubles, John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) played hard as a duo but lost 8-6.  Two doubles was forced to retire due to injury.  The partnership of Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) and James Watson-Dare (Charlotte, N.C.) fell 8-2 at three doubles.

Ferguson was unable to earn a victory at one singles, losing 6-2, 6-2.  Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) also lost at two singles 1-6, 6-3, 7-5.  Funkhouser lost at three, while the four spot was dropped, due to retirement in doubles.  McClung went down 6-1, 6-3 at five and Watson-Dare was blanked 6-0, 6-0 at six.

Emory & Henry play again at Guilford on Saturday, April 2.
