FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team has been picked to finish in 11th place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season, ODAC officials announced Friday. The poll is voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.
Last season, the Wasps went 1-15 on the season and 0-10 against conference opponents. E&H boasts an experienced lineup with seven players returning from last year's team and a pair of newcomers who have the opportunity to contribute right away.
Washington and Lee University received 10 of 11 first-place votes and 100 points, and is picked to win the league for a 36th time. Bridgewater College is second with 82 points while Guilford College is third on 70 points. Hampden-Sydney College rounds out the top four and earned the final first-place vote.
The Wasps (1-1) open the spring portion of their schedule on Sunday, February 19 with a non-conference match against Ferrum College. The match will be played at the Bristol Racquet & Fitness Club at 9:00 a.m. E&H will play its first ODAC match at Washington and Lee on Friday, March 10.
