Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Falls To Ferrum, 7-2, In First Match Of Spring Sunday

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (1-2, 0-0 ODAC) fell in their first match in the spring semester, Sunday afternoon, to Ferrum College (1-1, 0-0 USA South).  The team was able to win a couple matches, as the Wasps fell 7-2. 

Doubles
-Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) and Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) fell 8-3 at one doubles
-John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) faced a tough matchup at two doubles. But the pair came out on top 9-7.
-Dalton Shipley (Gate City, Va.) and Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) also lost, 8-3, at three doubles

Singles
-Ferguson won an exciting match at one singles, 7-5, 6-2
-Aliev fell, 7-5, 6-2, at two singles
-At three singles, McCarty was shut out, 6-0, 6-0
-Funkhouser was also defeated, 6-2, 7-5, at four singles
-Shipley went down, 6-1, 6-2, at five singles
-Garrett was not able to earn a victory after losing, 6-4, 6-1, at six singles
