Johnson University Squeaks Past Emory & Henry, 5-4, Thursday Afternoon
EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry men's tennis team (1-9, 0-4 ODAC) played in a tight matchup, Thursday afternoon, versus non-conference opponent, Johnson University (3-8). The Wasps had many close matchups, but E&H saw their demise by a score of 5-4.

Doubles

The Wasps were only able to pick up one win in doubles. And that victory came at the three spot. Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) and Taylor Hines (Jonesville, Va.) fought valiantly to earn an 8-6 win. One doubles fell 8-2, while two doubles lost, 8-6.

Singles

One and two singles took crucial losses at the top of the order. But the Wasps were able to get back on track at three singles, Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win on the day. Sophomore Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) followed suit with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Five singles was defeated, 6-1, 6-0. And dual-sport athlete, Staymon Johnson (Pilot Mountain, N.C.) won his first singles match, 6-2, 6-2.

Next Match

The Wasps are on the road tomorrow as they take on Hampden-Sydney at a neutral site in Roanoke, Virginia.
