WISE, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (7-4, 1-4 ODAC) picked up a 6-1 victory over the University of Virginia's College at Wise on Wendesday afternoon. The match was played under NCAA Division II scoring rules as UVA-Wise was the host.

How It Happened
The Wasps got out to a 1-0 lead after doubles play, winning two of the three matches to earn the "doubles point" per Division II rules. Freshman Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and junior Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) picked up a 6-3 victory at the second flight while freshman Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) and senior Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) earned a 6-0 win at No. 3 to clinch the point.
In singles play, the Wasps won five of the six matches to earn the overall team victory. McGuire won at the top flight, 6-4, 6-2 while Marlow handled buisiness at No. 2 - 6-2, 6-2. Junior Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) and Garrett won by the same 6-2, 6-2 margin at four and five singles, respectively while McClung closed out the day with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6.
