EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (1-0) got the 2019-20 season started with a 9-0 rout of Maryville (Tenn.) College (0-1) Sunday afternoon at home.

How It Happened
Emory & Henry got out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles portion of the match and cruised to the win by sweeping singles play. Seniors Dalton Shipley (Gate City, Va.) and Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) earned an 8-0 win at the third doubles flight as McCarty dropped just one game aqt No. 4 singles.
Senior Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) was perfect at No. 6 singles while sophomore Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) and freshman Adam Terry (Bristol, Va.) lost just one game each at No. 1 and No. 5 singles.
