#9 Bridgewater Men's Tennis Defeats #8 Emory & Henry, 5-0, In ODAC Tournament First Round Wednesday

EMORY, Va. - The #8 Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (4-8) saw its season come to an end on Wednesday at the hands of ninth-seeded Bridgewater College (6-7) by a 5-0 score in the first round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament. It was the first time since the 2012-13 season that the Wasps have reached the postseason.

How It Happened
The Eagles opened up a 3-0 lead in the doubles portion of the match. E&H had its best shot at the No. 2 doubles pairing as junior Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and senior Bryce Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) as they pushed their opponents to an 8-6 decision.

The match ended once Bridgewater picked up two singles wins to get to a 5-0 score. Marlow was leading by a set (6-1, 2-3) at No. 2 while freshman Sean Given (Cary, N.C.) was up a set (6-2, 1-3) at the third singles flight.
