Emory & Henry Track & Field Opens The ODAC Outdoor Championships Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams got the postseason started on Friday at the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships. The men's team sits in seventh place through day one.

The Basics

The Men
100 Meters – Freshman Orryn McGlone (Bristol, Va.) took 18th with a time of :11.66 while freshman Kesean Goins (Sugar Grove, Va.) was 20th in :11.77.
200 Meters – Goins took 30th, running a :23.68 as McGlone came in 32nd with a time of :24.14.
400 Meters – McGlone stopped the watches in :55.51 which was good for 25th.
Shot Put – Junior Edward Rajner (Bainbridge, N.Y.) posted a fourth-place finish with a throw of 12.84 meters while junior Donovan Pinnix (Eden, N.C.) also scored with a 12.43-meter throw, finishing seventh. Junior Brody Fields (Pulaski, Va.) was 10th (12.11m) while sophomore Justin Brown (Stuarts Draft, Va.) came in 18th (11.36m).
Hammer Throw – Rajner took 12th with a throw of 36.45 meters.

The Women
200 Meters – Junior Yasmin Thorpe (Mount Airy, Md.) finished 31st in the prelims, clocking a :30.32
400 Meters – Thorpe ran a 1:12.83 to take 25th.
Shot Put – Junior Lorin Zehr (Holly Pond, Ala.) took ninth with a throw of 9.73 meters.
Hammer Throw – Zehr earned her second ninth-place finish of the day with a school-record mark of 34.28 meters.

Emory & Henry will conclude the season on Sunday as it finishes the ODAC Championships.
