Emory & Henry Men’s Track & Field Wins WildCat Invitational With 10 School Records Saturday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Outdoor Track & Field Teams continued their record-breaking season on Saturday with a strong showing at the WildCat Invitational. The men's team took first place out of 16 programs and saw 10 school records fall while the women were third out of 17 with four E&H bests.

Top Men's Performances
- Freshman Heath Bowker (Salem, Va.) won the 800 meters in a record time of 1:54.30 and was the first leg of the 4x400 meter relay which also consisted of freshman Gavin Kegler (Woodbridge, Va.), freshman Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas) and junior Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.). The quartet ran a 3:25.33 to win the race and break the school record.
- Freshman Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) won the long jump with a record mark of 6.79 meters and was the runner-up in the triple jump posting a record distance of 13.66 meters.
- Sophomore Tyrique Taylor (Christiansburg, Va.) picked up the victory in the shot put with a throw of 14.31 meters and was second in the discus, throwing a record mark of 46.20 meters.
- Freshman Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) broke the school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, winning the event in 9:56.26.
- Freshman Nour Nabi (Lake Ridge, Va.) went a record time of 59.20 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles to place third while sophomore Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.) was third in the 5,000 meters in a record 15:36.77.
- Sophomore Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) posted a pair of records on the day in the 100 meters (11.05 seconds) and the 200 meters (22.29 seconds), finishing fourth in both events.

Women's Top Performances
- Sophomore Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) crushed the school record in the 5,000 meters, winning the event in 18:56.71 while sophomore Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) won the 3,000 meter steeplechase, breaking her own record in the process with a performance of 12.35.91.
- The Wasps took both hurdle events with sophomore Scarlett Eversley (Dumfries, Va.) running a :15.54 in the 100 meters and sophomore Madison Ricketts (Kingsport, Tenn.) crossing the line in 1:07.83 in the 400 meters.
- Junior Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) won the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.10 while freshman Ella Knight (Graham, N.C.) placed eighth in the 100 meters in a record 13.42 seconds.
- The 4x400 meter relay of Diaz, Ricketts, freshman Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) and freshman McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) ran a school-record 4:15.34 to place second.
