Austin Tolbert has been named the ODAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College junior Austin Tolbert has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the first time this year that an E&H runner has won weekly league honors.

The Wytheville, Virginia, native led the Wasps to a fourth-place finish at the Piedmont Invitational, coming in ninth overall. Tolbert posted a time of 27:56 on the Tallulah Falls Farm Course's 8K layout. The George Wythe High School graduate has led the team in all four meets so far this year.

The last time an Emory & Henry runner was named ODAC Runner of the Week was October 10, 2016. Then-senior Kevin Watts ran a 29:16 at last season's Piedmont Invitational.

Emory & Henry's next competition will be Saturday at the Berry Invitational. The meet will take place on the campus of Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia and will feature some of the top teams in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region.
