First-year Head Coach David Cheromei and Assistant Shawnee Kegley will look to seniors Zane Moran (Floyd, Va.) and Austin Tolbert (Wytheville, Va.) to help improve the Wasps' seventh place finish from the previous year, and continue the upward movement against league competition. With Tolbert's 10th-place finish at the ODAC Championships last year, he became just the second Wasp to receive All-ODAC accolades in program history.

"I believe our men have a great opportunity to improve this year," said Kegley. "We have a nice mix between upperclassmen and freshman. I believe this will be a hard-working group, and I'm excited to see where they end up."

Washington and Lee University is favored to make it four straight years as league champion, earning 11 of the 12 first-place votes. Bridgewater College is second with one vote while Lynchburg takes the third spot. Roanoke College and Virginia Wesleyan University round out the top five.

Emory & Henry will open the season on Friday, August 31 at the Bridgewater XC Challenge, hosted by Bridgewater College. The ODAC Championship will be hosted by Shenandoah University at the Kernstown Battlefield on Saturday, October 27.
