Emory & Henry Softball Doubleheader With Salem Washed Out In Fifth Inning

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College and Salem College softball teams moved their doubleheader up 30 minutes on Good Friday afternoon, hoping to beat the rain, but were unable to get either of their two games completed.

Game one was tied at four runs apiece in the top of the fifth inning with two outs, but will go down in the books as a "no contest" since five innings were not completed.

With only two weeks remaining in the regular season, the games will not be rescheduled. The twin-billing was originally scheduled to be played on Friday, March 6 but was postponed for nearly a month due to the snow and rain which fell over Southwest Virginia in the late winter.

Emory & Henry (18-2, 8-2 ODAC) will return to Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., when it welcomes Lynchburg College to Wasps Field. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
