SALEM, Va. – Emory & Henry College senior right-handed pitcher Brandy Bryant (Salem, Va.) has been named to the 2015 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Softball All-Tournament Team, ODAC officials announced Sunday. The team was selected following the conclusion of the championship as Randolph-Macon College hoisted the trophy.

Bryant led the Wasps to three wins and a third-place finish in the tournament, earning two wins and picking up a save in the circle in 20.2 innings pitched with a 0.68 ERA. She struck out nine batters while allowing 17 hits and a 1.21 WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched).

In her first outing of the tournament, Bryant scattered one earned run and eight hits over six innings with two strikeouts as the Wasps fell by a 3-1 score to rival #3 Roanoke College.

The four-year ace for E&H entered the game in relief against #7 Eastern Mennonite University, pitching the final 6.1 innings of the contest allowing just five base-runners with two strikeouts to get the win. Emory & Henry picked up the 2-1 victory in 11 innings, its longest postseason game in program history.

Bryant entered the game for the final out against top-seeded and No. 5 ranked Virginia Wesleyan College, forcing a routine groundout to earn the save and seal the 2-1 win for the Wasps.

The Salem, Virginia native got her revenge against Roanoke on Saturday afternoon, allowing one run as she scattered seven hits and three walks over the complete-game victory with five strikeouts.

For the weekend, Bryant faced a total of 84 batters, allowing just four of them to cross the plate.  The Glenvar High School graduate was the only player honored on the All-Tournament who is not a member of league-champion Randolph-Macon or runner-up Lynchburg College.
