FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College's Caley Hodge has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday afternoon. It is the second time in Hodge's career that she has been tabbed as Player of the Week.

It is the first time since March 30, 2015 that a Wasp has earned weekly league honors when Brandy Bryant was named ODAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Hodge was the last E&H player to earn Softball Player of the Week accolades on March 16, 2015.

The sophomore designated player from Elizabethton, Tenn., led the Wasps to a 4-2 week against Old Dominion Athletic Conference foes.  Emory & Henry currently sits in a tie for fourth place in the league standings with a 5-3 record.

Hodge went 12-for-18 (.667) at the plate with three doubles, a home run, five walks and a hit by pitch. She tallied a .750 on-base percentage for the week and slugged at an even 1.000 for a gaudy 1.750 OPS.

Against Guilford Wednesday, Hodge went three-for-three in game two with two runs scored, and a hit by pitch. She combined for a six-for-seven day with a pair of walks and two RBI on Saturday against Eastern Mennonite. In the final game against Bridgewater Sunday, she went two-for-four with four RBI, getting her hits on a double and a home run.

Hodge has played in all 28 of E&H's game this year. She leads the team in batting average (.457) hits (37), home runs (five), RBI (30), on-base percentage (.550) and slugging (.753). She has drawn 13 walks, been hit five times and has 13 extra-base hits, all of which are team-highs.

She leads the league in hits and is in the top 10 in 10 other categories. Her 30 RBI, .550 on-base percentage and times hit by pitch all currently stand as second in the ODAC.

Emory & Henry (12-16) will travel to face Roanoke College on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. The ODAC doubleheader will take place at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex.
