FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team has earned the #8 seed for next weekend's Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament, ODAC officials announced Sunday evening. It marks the third straight year and fourth time in the last five seasons that the Wasps have reached the postseason.

E&H (15-25) will take on top-seeded and No. 4 nationally-ranked Virginia Wesleyan College (34-5) on Friday at noon, on Field 1 of the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia.

With a win in their first contest, the Wasps will play the winner of #4 Lynchburg College and #5 Roanoke College at 7:00 p.m. A loss will see E&H take on the loser of the LC-RC matchup at 5:00 p.m. Both games will also be played on Field 1.

In last year's tournament, the Wasps blazed a trail through the Losers' Bracket after dropping their first game to Roanoke, 3-1. E&H eliminated three teams from the tournament, defeating Eastern Mennonite, 2-1, in 11 innings to finish day one. The Wasps opened Saturday with a win over Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1, and avenged their opening round loss to Roanoke, 4-1, eliminating the Maroons from further play.

Emory & Henry's 2015 run came to a close with a 2-1 loss to Lynchburg in – unofficially – the tournament's third-place game. All told, the Wasps eliminated the #1, #3 and #7 seeds before their own exit.
